Early Years Practitioner

Greenfield Primary School are looking to recruit a professional, enthusiastic and caring person  to join our current team in our pre-school. We provide a welcoming and inspirational learning environment with a committed and talented team who share the goals of wanting to give every child the best possible start in life. We aim for our children to leave pre-school ‘school ready’ and with a strong base upon which to continue their education journey.

The pre-school is based in a fantastic new purpose built unit next to the Reception base on the main school site. We have a smaller and nurturing nursery room for 2-3 year olds and larger pre-school room for 3-4 year olds.

Hours of work:

We are open from 7.45am to - 5.45pm during the week, and are looking to fill a post with up to 37 hours per week. We can be flexible around hours, please advise your preferred hours in your application. 

This role is term time plus two weeks (40 weeks per year) which includes two weeks to be worked in the school summer holiday break and inset days.

Salary:

LCC range Grade 6 - 7, £13.05 to £14.13 per hour, actual salary 37 hours per week £22,110 to £23,940 per annum dependant on experience (0.87FTE)

We are looking for someone with:

• a relevant qualification, an NVQ level 3 in Early Years childcare, or equivalent. Applications will also be considered from candidates who are part way through their level 3 qualification. Applications from candidates with a level 2 qualification and significant experience working with children who are committed to completing a level 3 qualification within 12 months of starting in post will be looked upon favourably.

• experience of working as part of a team within a pre-school/nursery setting

• a positive, hardworking and "can do" attitude

• sound experience of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and are able to contribute to planning, observations and reports

• be able to provide a safe, stimulating environment for all children
