Countesthorpe Nursery School at The Drive will close on Friday 14th July and re-locate to a new governor led pre-school at Greenfield on Monday 4th September. Construction has already started and will continue over the school holidays.
We will provide the government’s extended offer of 30 hours’ free childcare and extended care from 7.45am to 6pm, for around 50 weeks of the year (closing for the school Christmas break).
Our lovely teacher Mrs Clarke has over 35 years experience teaching in Early Years. She leads the provision supported by her team of qualified Early Years Practitioners and Assistants.
The children at the new pre-school will have access to additional resources, creative and physical activities, a larger outdoor space, Forest School, and be able to join the wider school life with the social benefits that brings. The transition for children starting school at Greenfield is already good and this will be further enhanced, as we plan to embed close links with the Foundation team on site and a crossover of staff.
The most recent Ofsted inspection in January 2014 rated the nursery Good with Outstanding features for the behaviour and safety of pupils. We are proud of the reputation of the nursery and all staff and governors want the new pre-school to continue to provide children with the best possible start to school life, in a welcoming and inspirational learning environment.
We will be contacting all parents over the next two weeks to confirm their requirements for sessions from September. Please continue to chcek this page for updates over the coming months as the move to the new pre-school progresses.
